Article D6124-33-4 of the French Public Health Code

The non-medical team in the paediatric intensive care unit comprises at least :

1° Two state-qualified nurses per five open beds. The team includes at least one state-qualified nursery nurse out of four state-qualified nurses;

2° One nursery assistant or auxiliary nurse for every four open beds;

3° A physiotherapist able to work seven days a week in the unit, with proven experience in paediatric critical care;

4° A psychologist;

5° Where necessary, a speech therapist, a psychomotor therapist and a social worker.

The staff mentioned in 1° and 2° are placed under the responsibility of a health executive.

L’équipe non médicale de l’unité de réanimation pédiatrique comprend au moins :

1° Deux infirmiers diplômés d’Etat pour cinq lits ouverts. L’équipe comprend au moins un infirmier diplômé d’Etat de puériculture sur quatre infirmiers diplômés d’Etat ;

2° Un aide-soignant ou auxiliaire de puériculture pour quatre lits ouverts ;

3° Un masseur-kinésithérapeute en mesure d’intervenir sept jours sur sept dans l’unité, justifiant d’une expérience attestée en soins critiques pédiatriques ;

4° Un psychologue ;

5° En tant que de besoin, un orthophoniste, un psychomotricien et un assistant social.

Les personnels mentionnés aux 1° et 2° sont placés sous la responsabilité d’un cadre de santé.
