Article D6124-64 of the French Public Health Code

The training of the patient and the third party assisting the patient for self-dialysis or home dialysis is placed under the responsibility of a nephrologist, qualified or competent in nephrology; it is provided by nurses trained in dialysis. The haemodialysis centre has specific premises for this purpose.

La formation du patient et de la tierce personne aidant le patient pour l’autodialyse ou la dialyse à domicile est placée sous la responsabilité d’un médecin néphrologue, qualifié ou compétent en néphrologie ; elle est dispensée par des infirmiers ou des infirmières formés à la dialyse. Le centre d’hémodialyse dispose à cette fin d’un local spécifique.
