The medical dialysis unit, defined in article R. 6123-63, has at least six haemodialysis treatment stations.
The same haemodialysis station may not be used for more than three patients per twenty-four hours.
The medical dialysis unit also has, for every six stations, at least one back-up haemodialysis machine for every six treatment stations installed, reserved for this purpose.
Patients treated in a medical dialysis unit are transferred to a haemodialysis centre under the conditions set out in article D. 6124-67. When this transfer is provided for by an agreement, this agreement specifies the number of patients being treated to be taken into account for the number of transfer stations.
When the medical dialysis unit provides training in home haemodialysis and self-dialysis, at least one haemodialysis station is reserved for training.
The medical dialysis unit has at least one cubicle for every six haemodialysis stations for the management of patients requiring isolation.
