The managing health establishment enlists the help of a team of nephrologists, each member of which is qualified or competent in nephrology. A nephrologist is on call twenty-four hours a day to respond to any medical emergencies for patients treated by home haemodialysis and cared for by the managing health care establishment. This on-call service may also be provided under the conditions set out in article D. 6124-69.
The managing health establishment ensures the temporary relocation of the patient to a haemodialysis centre, at his request or on medical prescription, his definitive referral to another treatment method or his hospitalisation if necessary.
The patient is transferred to a haemodialysis centre or medical dialysis unit under the conditions set out in article D. 6124-67. Where this is provided for in an agreement, the agreement will specify the number of patients being treated to be taken into account for the number of back-up stations.
