When the patient’s condition requires the assistance of a third party who cannot be found in the patient’s usual environment, a nurse is called in. The patient and the third party are trained in peritoneal dialysis.
Patients are trained in the technique of peritoneal dialysis, under the supervision of a nephrologist, by nurses or by nurses with experience of peritoneal dialysis.
The healthcare establishment referred to in article R. 6123-67 installs the equipment required for automated peritoneal dialysis in the home of the patient it cares for. It also provides the medicines, objects and products directly linked to the performance of peritoneal dialysis.
