Article D6124-91 of the French Public Health Code

For any patient whose condition requires general or loco-regional anaesthesia, health establishments, including alternative care facilities, provide the following guarantees:

1° A pre-anaesthetic consultation, in the case of a scheduled operation ;

2° The means necessary to carry out this anaesthetic;

3° Continuous monitoring after the operation;

4° Organisation to deal with complications arising from the operation or anaesthesia at any time.

Pour tout patient dont l’état nécessite une anesthésie générale ou loco-régionale, les établissements de santé, y compris les structures de soins alternatives à l’hospitalisation, assurent les garanties suivantes :

1° Une consultation préanesthésique, lorsqu’il s’agit d’une intervention programmée ;

2° Les moyens nécessaires à la réalisation de cette anesthésie ;

3° Une surveillance continue après l’intervention ;

4° Une organisation permettant de faire face à tout moment à une complication liée à l’intervention ou à l’anesthésie effectuées.
