Applications and the nature of the tasks that may be assigned to consultants, whether inside or outside the institution, are examined by the Chairman of the Institutional Medical Board. After obtaining the opinion of the director of the training and research unit, the latter issues a reasoned opinion on the appropriateness and content of the project presented by the candidate in support of his/her application.

The director general of the university hospital centre forwards the candidate’s application to the director general of the regional health agency, together with his or her opinion, that of the chairman of the establishment’s medical commission and the agreement of the director of the host structure for participation in assignments outside the university hospital centre to which the candidate is attached. Consultants are appointed by the Director General of the Regional Health Agency. Appointments are made for a period of one year. They may be renewed twice for a period of one year, at the request of the person concerned, in accordance with the procedure laid down in this article. Reasons must be given for any refusal.

The duties of the consultants shall cease when they are no longer required to carry out any additional academic duties in accordance witharticle L. 952-10 of the Education Code.

Les candidatures et la nature des missions susceptibles d’être confiées aux consultants, dans ou en dehors de l’établissement, sont examinées par le président de la commission médicale d’établissement. Celui-ci, après avis du directeur de l’unité de formation et de recherche, émet un avis motivé sur l’opportunité et le contenu du projet présenté par le candidat à l’appui de sa demande.

Le directeur général du centre hospitalier universitaire transmet la candidature de l’intéressé au directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé accompagnée de son avis, de celui du président de la commission médicale d’établissement et de l’accord du directeur de la structure d’accueil pour la participation aux missions réalisées en dehors du centre hospitalier universitaire de rattachement. Les consultants sont nommés par le directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé. Les nominations sont prononcées pour une durée d’un an. Elles sont renouvelables deux fois pour une durée d’un an, sur demande de l’intéressé, selon la procédure prévue au présent article. Toute décision de refus doit être motivée.

Les fonctions des consultants cessent lorsqu’il est mis fin à leur maintien en activité en surnombre sur le plan universitaire conformément à l’article L. 952-10 du code de l’éducation.
