Applications and the nature of the tasks that may be assigned to consultants, whether inside or outside the institution, are examined by the Chairman of the Institutional Medical Board. After obtaining the opinion of the director of the training and research unit, the latter issues a reasoned opinion on the appropriateness and content of the project presented by the candidate in support of his/her application.
The director general of the university hospital centre forwards the candidate’s application to the director general of the regional health agency, together with his or her opinion, that of the chairman of the establishment’s medical commission and the agreement of the director of the host structure for participation in assignments outside the university hospital centre to which the candidate is attached. Consultants are appointed by the Director General of the Regional Health Agency. Appointments are made for a period of one year. They may be renewed twice for a period of one year, at the request of the person concerned, in accordance with the procedure laid down in this article. Reasons must be given for any refusal.
The duties of the consultants shall cease when they are no longer required to carry out any additional academic duties in accordance witharticle L. 952-10 of the Education Code.
