If the online complaint relates to an offence that has caused material injury, the victim is informed that he or she may determine the amount of his or her injury and send supporting documents electronically.
If the online complaint relates to an offence causing personal injury, the victim is informed that he or she will have to go to a medico-judicial unit or to a doctor in order to obtain a certificate describing the injuries sustained and any resulting total incapacity for work. If necessary, the claimant must be able to send a copy of the medical certificate establishing the injury electronically.
In the event of an online complaint concerning acts of sexual assault or molestation as referred to in the last paragraph of article D. 8-2-2 or any other serious personal injury that has just been committed or that has recently been committed, the victim is informed that he/she must contact the police or gendarmerie immediately and that if this is not possible, they must keep any evidence they may have, in particular the clothing they were wearing at the time of the crime, in order to hand it over to the investigating department as quickly as possible. If medical observations or samples need to be taken, they must go to a medico-judicial unit or hospital for this purpose.
