The Agence nationale du sport is responsible for developing access to sport for everyone and promoting elite sport and high performance sport, particularly in Olympic and Paralympic disciplines, as part of the strategy defined by the State in an agreement on objectives between the agency and the State. The National Sports Agency ensures that local sports projects are consistent with the sports projects of the federations.
In accordance with the principles of the contract of republican commitment mentioned in article L. 121-4, it provides its support to projects and players, in particular sports federations, local authorities and their groupings and cooperative societies of collective interest, contributing to the development of access to sport, elite sport and high performance sport.
The National Sports Agency is a public interest grouping governed, subject to the provisions of this section, by Chapter II of Law No. 2011-525 of 17 May 2011 on simplifying and improving the quality of law.
