Article L1225-63 of the French Labour Code

The employee shall inform the employer of his wish to take parental presence leave at least fifteen days before the start of the leave.

Each time the employee wishes to take half a day, a day or several days of leave, he/she shall inform the employer at least forty-eight hours in advance. In the event of a sudden deterioration in the child’s state of health or in the event of a crisis situation requiring the employee’s immediate presence, the employee may take this leave immediately.

Le salarié informe l’employeur de sa volonté de bénéficier du congé de présence parentale au moins quinze jours avant le début du congé.

Chaque fois qu’il souhaite prendre une demi-journée, un jour ou plusieurs jours de congé, il en informe l’employeur au moins quarante-huit heures à l’avance. En cas de dégradation soudaine de l’état de santé de l’enfant ou en cas de situation de crise nécessitant une présence sans délai du salarié, ce dernier peut bénéficier de ce congé immédiatement.
