Article L131-1-1 of the French Insurance Code

The units of account referred to in the second paragraph of article L. 131-1 may consist of units in alternative investment funds open to professional investors, covered by sub-section 3 of section 2 of Chapter IV of Title I of Book II of the Monetary and Financial Code, subject to conditions relating in particular to the financial situation, knowledge or experience of the contracting party. A Conseil d’Etat decree sets these conditions and specifies the funds concerned.

Article L131-1-1

Les unités de compte mentionnées au deuxième alinéa de l’article L. 131-1 peuvent être constituées de parts de fonds d’investissement alternatifs ouverts à des investisseurs professionnels, relevant de la sous-section 3 de la section 2 du chapitre IV du titre Ier du livre II du code monétaire et financier, dans le respect de conditions tenant notamment à la situation financière, aux connaissances ou à l’expérience en matière financière du contractant. Un décret en Conseil d’Etat fixe ces conditions et précise les fonds concernés.
