Any banker may, by reasoned decision, refuse to issue to an account holder cheque forms other than those issued for a withdrawal of funds by the drawer from the drawee or for certification. It may, at any time, request the return of cheque forms previously issued. This must be requested when the account is closed.
Where cheque forms are issued, they are made available to the account holder free of charge.
Cheque forms may be issued crossed in advance and made non-transferable by endorsement by an express statement by the banker, except in favour of a credit institution, a similar institution, a finance company, an electronic money institution or a payment institution. The tax authorities may at any time, at their request, be informed of the identity of persons to whom cheque forms are issued that do not comply with these characteristics, as well as the number of these forms.
Cheque forms mention the telephone number of the bank branch or agency at which the cheque is payable.
They also state the address of the account holder.
