Article L1334-12-1 of the French Public Health Code

The owners, or failing that the operators, of built-up buildings shall have them inspected for the presence of asbestos; if asbestos is found to be present, they shall have a diagnosis made of the state of conservation of the asbestos in the materials and products identified and, where necessary, implement the measures required to control and reduce exposure.

Les propriétaires, ou à défaut les exploitants, des immeubles bâtis y font rechercher la présence d’amiante ; en cas de présence d’amiante, ils font établir un diagnostic de l’état de conservation de l’amiante dans les matériaux et produits repérés et mettent en œuvre, le cas échéant, les mesures nécessaires pour contrôler et réduire l’exposition.
