Article L135-4 of the French Intellectual Property Code

Where an orphan work is already registered in the database mentioned in 2° of Article L. 135-3, the organisation is not required to carry out the searches mentioned in the same Article. It must indicate, in accordance with the conditions laid down in the said Article, the use of the orphan work that it intends to make.

Lorsqu’une œuvre orpheline est déjà inscrite dans la base de données mentionnée au 2° de l’article L. 135-3, l’organisme n’est pas tenu de procéder aux recherches mentionnées au même article. Il doit indiquer, dans les conditions prévues audit article, l’utilisation de l’œuvre orpheline qu’il envisage.
