Article L143-2 of the French Code of civil enforcement procedures

With the exception of acts intended to assign or seize remuneration, oppositions and notifications sent to a public accountant only have effect for five years from their date, if they have not been renewed within this period, regardless of the acts or judgments made on these oppositions and notifications.
The first paragraph applies to objections and notifications sent to the cashier general of the Caisse des dépôts et consignations and to his agents.

A l’exception des actes visant à céder ou saisir une rémunération, les oppositions et significations adressées à un comptable public n’ont d’effet que pendant cinq années à compter de leur date, si elles n’ont pas été renouvelées dans ce délai, quels que soient les actes ou jugements intervenus sur ces oppositions et significations.
Le premier alinéa est applicable aux oppositions et significations adressées au caissier général de la Caisse des dépôts et consignations et à ses préposés.
