Article L152-1 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

Holders transporting cash, within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2018/1672 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2018 on controls of cash entering or leaving the Union and repealing Regulation (EC) No 1889/2005, in an amount equal to or greater than €10,000, to or from a Member State of the European Union must declare this to the customs authorities. They must make this money available to the customs authorities in the event of an inspection during transport.

Any natural person who, for himself or on behalf of a third party, carries cash on his person, in his luggage or in his means of transport, is considered to be a bearer.

A decree of the Conseil d’Etat shall lay down the conditions for the application of this article.

Article L152-1

Les porteurs transportant de l’argent liquide, au sens du règlement (UE) 2018/1672 du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 23 octobre 2018 relatif aux contrôles de l’argent liquide entrant dans l’Union ou sortant de l’Union et abrogeant le règlement (CE) n° 1889/2005, d’un montant égal ou supérieur à 10 000 €, vers un Etat membre de l’Union européenne ou en provenance d’un tel Etat doivent en faire la déclaration auprès de l’administration des douanes. Ils mettent cet argent à la disposition de l’administration des douanes en cas de contrôle lors de ce transport.

Est considérée comme porteur toute personne physique qui, pour elle-même ou pour le compte d’un tiers, transporte de l’argent liquide sur elle, dans ses bagages ou dans ses moyens de transport.

Un décret en Conseil d’Etat fixe les conditions d’application du présent article.
