Article L192-3 of the French Insurance Code

Notwithstanding the provisions of article L. 122-4 and unless expressly stipulated otherwise, the insurer is obliged to compensate, in addition to damage resulting from the action of fire, explosion or lightning, damage which is the inevitable consequence of fire or is caused by its extinction, the demolition and clearance of premises, theft and disappearance of insured objects.

Nonobstant les dispositions de l’article L. 122-4 et sauf stipulations expresses contraires, l’assureur est tenu de réparer, outre les dommages résultant de l’action du feu, d’une explosion ou de la foudre, ceux qui sont la conséquence inévitable de l’incendie ou sont causés par son extinction, la démolition et le déblaiement des locaux, le vol et la disparition d’objets assurés.
