Article L212-21 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Any cinema that is a member of a programming group or agreement is bound to this group or agreement by a programming contract. This contract must provide for the payment by the establishment to the group or to the lead company of the agreement, in return for the services provided, of a programming fee that takes into account the resources of the establishment and the services provided to it.

Tout établissement de spectacles cinématographiques membre d’un groupement ou d’une entente de programmation est lié à ce groupement ou à cette entente par un contrat de programmation. Ce contrat doit prévoir le versement par l’établissement au groupement ou à l’entreprise pilote de l’entente, en contrepartie des prestations fournies, d’une redevance de programmation qui tient compte des ressources de l’établissement et des services qui lui sont procurés.
