Article L2232-5-2 of the French Labour Code

The branches have a national scope of application. However, some of the provisions of their agreements may be defined, adapted or supplemented at local level.

Employers’ organisations set up in accordance with article L. 2131-2 that are affiliated or members of employers’ organisations recognised as representative in the branch are entitled to negotiate, within the perimeter of the branch, collective agreements whose scope is regional, departmental or local, and to request the extension of these agreements.

Les organisations d’employeurs constituées conformément à l’article L. 2131-2 affiliées ou adhérentes aux organisations d’employeurs reconnues représentatives dans la branche sont habilitées à négocier, dans le périmètre de la branche, des accords collectifs dont le champ d’application est régional, départemental ou local, et à demander l’extension de ces accords.
