Article L230-2 of the French Sports Code

I. – For the purposes of this Title, an international sporting event is a sporting event which takes place at a venue designated by an international sporting body and for which that body:

1° lays down the rules applicable to the event; or

2° appoints the persons responsible for enforcing the rules applicable to the event.

The following are international sports bodies within the meaning of this article:

1° The International Olympic Committee ;

2° The International Paralympic Committee ;

3° An international sports federation that is a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code referred to in the International Convention against Doping in Sport, adopted in Paris on 19 October 2005;

4° An organisation responsible for a major international sporting event that is a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code mentioned in the International Convention against Doping in Sport, adopted in Paris on 19 October 2005.

II. – For the purposes of this Title, a national sporting event is a sporting event or competition involving international-level athletes or national-level athletes, which is not an international event as defined in the first paragraph.

Article L230-2

I. – Pour l’application du présent titre, une manifestation sportive internationale est une manifestation sportive qui se déroule sur le site désigné par un organisme sportif international et pour laquelle cet organisme :

1° Soit édicte les règles qui sont applicables à cette manifestation ;

2° Soit nomme les personnes chargées de faire respecter les règles applicables à cette manifestation.

Constituent des organismes sportifs internationaux au sens du présent article :

1° Le Comité international olympique ;

2° Le Comité international paralympique ;

3° Une fédération sportive internationale signataire du code mondial antidopage mentionné par la convention internationale contre le dopage dans le sport, adoptée à Paris le 19 octobre 2005 ;

4° Une organisation responsable d’une grande manifestation sportive internationale signataire du code mondial antidopage mentionné par la convention internationale contre le dopage dans le sport, adoptée à Paris le 19 octobre 2005.

II. – Pour l’application du présent titre, une manifestation sportive nationale est une manifestation ou compétition sportive impliquant des sportifs de niveau international ou des sportifs de niveau national, qui n’est pas une manifestation internationale selon la définition donnée au premier alinéa.
