Article L232-22-1 of the French Sports Code

In the event that evidence is gathered that indicates the use by an athlete of a substance or method prohibited pursuant to 3° of II of article L. 232-9 in the context of establishing the profile mentioned in article L. 232-12-1, the matter is referred to a three-member committee of experts set up by the French Anti-Doping Agency.

If this committee considers that the elements gathered indicate the use of a prohibited substance or method, and if it unanimously confirms its position after having given the athlete concerned the opportunity to present his or her observations, the latter is liable to disciplinary sanctions taken under the conditions set out in articles L. 232-21-1 to L. 232-23-3-12.
