Article L2511-25-1 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

In arrondissement councils, the limit set in article L. 2511-25 may be exceeded with a view to the creation of deputy posts with primary responsibility for one or more neighbourhoods, although their number may not exceed 10% of the legal number of members of the arrondissement council.

The deputy with primary responsibility for a neighbourhood deals with any issue of primary interest to the neighbourhood. He/she ensures that residents are kept informed and encourages their participation in the life of the district.

Dans les conseils d’arrondissement, la limite fixée à l’article L. 2511-25 peut donner lieu à dépassement en vue de la création de postes d’adjoints chargés principalement d’un ou plusieurs quartiers, sans toutefois que leur nombre puisse excéder 10 % de l’effectif légal du conseil d’arrondissement.

L’adjoint chargé de quartier connaît de toute question intéressant à titre principal le quartier. Il veille à l’information des habitants et favorise leur participation à la vie du quartier.
