Article L312-30 of the French Consumer Code

No vendor or service provider may, for the same goods or services, have the same customer sign one or more credit agreements for a total capital amount greater than the value payable on credit of the goods purchased or services provided.
This provision does not apply to the revolving credit agreements referred to in article L. 312-57.

Aucun vendeur ni prestataire de services ne peut, pour un même bien ou une même prestation de services, faire signer par un même client un ou plusieurs contrats de crédit, d’un montant total en capital supérieur à la valeur payable à crédit du bien acheté ou de la prestation de services fournie.
Cette disposition ne s’applique pas aux contrats de crédit renouvelable mentionnés à l’article L. 312-57.
