Article L312-42 of the French Consumer Code

Where a financing transaction involves the assumption of all or part of the costs, the seller may not ask the credit purchaser or hirer for a sum of money greater than the lowest price actually charged for the cash purchase of a similar item or service, in the same retail establishment, during the last thirty days prior to the start of the advertising or offer.

Lorsqu’une opération de financement comporte une prise en charge totale ou partielle des frais, le vendeur ne peut demander à l’acheteur à crédit ou au locataire une somme d’argent supérieure au prix le plus bas effectivement pratiqué pour l’achat au comptant d’un article ou d’une prestation similaire, dans le même établissement de vente au détail, au cours des trente derniers jours précédant le début de la publicité ou de l’offre.
