Article L3132-21 of the French Labour Code

The authorisations provided for in article L. 3132-20 are granted for a period that may not exceed three years, after obtaining the opinion of the town council and, where applicable, of the deliberative body of the public inter-communal cooperation body with its own tax authority of which the municipality is a member, of the chamber of commerce and industry, of the chamber of trades and crafts, and of the professional employers’ organisations and trade unions concerned in the municipality.

In the event of a duly justified emergency and when the number of Sundays for which authorisation is required under article L. 3132-20 does not exceed three, the prior opinions mentioned in the first paragraph of this article are not required.

Article L3132-21

Les autorisations prévues à l’article L. 3132-20 sont accordées pour une durée qui ne peut excéder trois ans, après avis du conseil municipal et, le cas échéant, de l’organe délibérant de l’établissement public de coopération intercommunale à fiscalité propre dont la commune est membre, de la chambre de commerce et d’industrie, de la chambre de métiers et de l’artisanat, ainsi que des organisations professionnelles d’employeurs et des organisations syndicales de salariés intéressées de la commune.

En cas d’urgence dûment justifiée et lorsque le nombre de dimanches pour lesquels l’autorisation prévue au même article L. 3132-20 n’excède pas trois, les avis préalables mentionnés au premier alinéa du présent article ne sont pas requis.
