Article L314-30 of the French Consumer Code

The lender guarantees that the information and documents will be accessible for a period appropriate to their purpose. For pre-contractual and contractual documents this period may not be less than five years after the end of the contractual relationship.

Where the lender intends to stop making this information and documents available, it must inform the borrower in advance and within a period of not less than two months, by any means appropriate to the borrower’s situation.

Le prêteur garantit l’accessibilité des informations et des documents pendant une durée adaptée à leur finalité. Pour les documents précontractuels et contractuels cette durée ne peut être inférieure à cinq ans après la fin de la relation contractuelle.

Lorsque le prêteur envisage de ne plus rendre accessibles ces informations et documents, il doit en informer préalablement et dans un délai qui ne peut être inférieur à deux mois, l’emprunteur par tout moyen adapté à la situation de ce dernier.
