Article L321-3-1 of the French Sports Code

Practitioners cannot be held liable for material damage caused to another practitioner by something in their custody, within the meaning of the first paragraph of article 1242 of the Civil Code, when practising a sport during a sporting event or training for this sporting event in a place reserved permanently or temporarily for this practice.

Les pratiquants ne peuvent être tenus pour responsables des dommages matériels causés à un autre pratiquant par le fait d’une chose qu’ils ont sous leur garde, au sens du premier alinéa de l’article 1242 du code civil, à l’occasion de l’exercice d’une pratique sportive au cours d’une manifestation sportive ou d’un entraînement en vue de cette manifestation sportive sur un lieu réservé de manière permanente ou temporaire à cette pratique.
