Article L326-1 of the French Tourism Code

A refuge is an establishment in an isolated mountain site, either guarded or unguarded, open to the public.

Minors may be accommodated in a guarded refuge or, when accompanied, in an unguarded refuge.

A decree sets out the conditions for application of this article and adapts safety and hygiene standards to the specific characteristics of mountain areas.

Les mineurs peuvent être hébergés dans un refuge gardé ou, lorsqu’ils sont accompagnés, dans un refuge non gardé.


Un décret fixe les conditions d’application du présent article et adapte les normes de sécurité et d’hygiène aux spécificités des zones de montagne.
