Article L327-5 of the French Intellectual Property Code

The term of office for members of both colleges is five years, renewable once.

For each of the two colleges, the difference between the number of women and men among the appointed members may not be greater than one.

In the event of a vacancy in the membership of one of the colleges for any reason whatsoever, as determined by its Chairman, a person of the same sex shall be appointed to replace the member for the remainder of the term of office. This term of office is not taken into account for the purposes of the first paragraph.

Article L327-5

La durée du mandat des membres des deux collèges est de cinq ans, renouvelable une fois.

Pour chacun des deux collèges, l’écart entre le nombre de femmes et d’hommes parmi les membres nommés ne peut être supérieur à un.

En cas de vacance d’un siège de membre dans l’un des collèges pour quelque cause que ce soit, constatée par son président, il est procédé à son remplacement par une personne de même sexe pour la durée du mandat restant à courir. Ce mandat n’est pas pris en compte pour l’application du premier alinéa.
