Article L3611-3 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The metropolis of Lyon is freely administered under the conditions laid down by this book and by the non-contradictory provisions of Part I of this code, Titles II, III and IV of Book I and Books II and III of Part III thereof, and of the legislation in force relating to the department.

For the application to the metropolis of Lyon of the provisions of the preceding paragraph:

1° The reference to the department is replaced by the reference to the metropolis of Lyon;

2° The reference to the general council is replaced by the reference to the council of the metropolis;

3° The reference to the president of the general council is replaced by the reference to the president of the council of the metropolis.

La métropole de Lyon s’administre librement dans les conditions fixées par le présent livre et par les dispositions non contraires de la première partie du présent code, des titres II, III et IV du livre Ier et des livres II et III de sa troisième partie, et de la législation en vigueur relative au département.

Pour l’application à la métropole de Lyon des dispositions de l’alinéa précédent :

1° La référence au département est remplacée par la référence à la métropole de Lyon ;

2° La référence au conseil général est remplacée par la référence au conseil de la métropole ;

3° La référence au président du conseil général est remplacée par la référence au président du conseil de la métropole.
