Subject to France’s international commitments or Book II, any foreign national aged over eighteen who wishes to stay in France for more than three months must hold one of the following residence documents:
1° A long-stay visa;
2° A long-stay visa conferring on its holder, pursuant to the second paragraph of Article L. 312-2, the rights attached to a temporary residence permit or to the multi-annual residence permit provided for in articles L. 421-9 to L. 421-11 or L. 421-13 to L. 421-24, or articles L. 421-26 and L. 421-28 when the intended stay on this basis is for a period of less than or equal to one year;
3° A temporary residence permit;
4° A multi-annual residence permit;
5° A residence permit;
6° A residence permit bearing the words “long-term resident-EU”;
7° A residence permit bearing the words “retired”;
8° The provisional residence permit provided for in articles L. 425-4, L. 425-10 or L. 426-21.
