Article L423-1 of the French Consumer Code

The producer shall provide the consumer with useful information enabling him to assess and guard against the risks inherent in a product during its normal or reasonably foreseeable period of use, where such risks are not immediately apparent to the consumer without adequate warning.
These provisions apply without prejudice to the other obligations mentioned in articles L. 421-3, L. 423-2, and L. 423-3.

Le producteur fournit au consommateur les informations utiles qui lui permettent d’évaluer les risques inhérents à un produit pendant sa durée d’utilisation normale ou raisonnablement prévisible et de s’en prémunir, lorsque ces risques ne sont pas immédiatement perceptibles par le consommateur sans un avertissement adéquat.
Ces dispositions s’appliquent sans préjudice des autres obligations mentionnées aux articles L. 421-3, L. 423-2, et L. 423-3.
