Article L424-4 of the French Insurance Code

The compensation body which has compensated the injured party is subrogated to his rights against the compensation body of the State in which the establishment of the insurance undertaking which issued the contract is situated for reimbursement of the sum paid by way of compensation.

L’organisme d’indemnisation qui a indemnisé la personne lésée est subrogé dans ses droits à l’encontre de l’organisme d’indemnisation de l’Etat où est situé l’établissement de l’entreprise d’assurance qui a produit le contrat pour le remboursement de la somme payée à titre d’indemnisation.
