Article L4251-2 of the French Public Health Code

Persons holding a diploma of qualification in radiological and medical physics or a diploma in medical physics may practise the profession of medical physicist and hold the title of medical physicist.

By way of derogation from the first paragraph, persons who have been approved as radiophysicists before 28 November 2004 may also practise the profession of medical physicist and hold the title of medical physicist.

The methods of training, the conditions of access, the skills to be acquired, the assessment methods and the conditions for awarding these diplomas are set by decree.

Peuvent exercer la profession de physicien médical et en porter le titre les personnes titulaires du diplôme de qualification en physique radiologique et médicale ou du diplôme de physicien médical.


Par dérogation au premier alinéa, peuvent également exercer la profession de physicien médical et en porter le titre les personnes auxquelles a été délivré un agrément en tant que radiophysicien avant le 28 novembre 2004.


Les modalités de la formation, les conditions d’accès, les compétences à acquérir, les modalités d’évaluation ainsi que les conditions de délivrance de ces diplômes sont fixées par décret.
