A foreigner aged between eighteen and thirty who is taken in temporarily by a family of a different nationality with whom he or she has no family ties, with the aim of improving his or her language skills and knowledge of France in exchange for light housework and childcare, and who can prove that they have a basic knowledge of the French language, or that they have a secondary level of education or professional qualifications, will be issued with a temporary residence permit bearing the wording “young au pair” for a period of one year.
