Article L4333-1 of the French Public Health Code

Persons who have obtained the evidence of formal qualifications or authorisation required to practise the profession of occupational therapist or psychomotricist are required to register with the department or body designated for this purpose by the Minister for Health, before they enter the profession.

The registration of these persons is carried out after verification of the supporting documents attesting to their identity and their training qualification or authorisation. They must inform the same department or body of any change in their professional situation.

The registration procedure is free of charge.

Separate lists of these professions are drawn up for each département by the department or body designated for this purpose and made available to the public.

Registration is only possible in one département. If the activity is carried out in several départements, the person concerned is entered on the list of the département in which his main place of professional practice is located. This provision does not apply to military occupational therapists and psychomotricians.

The procedures for applying this article shall be laid down by decree.

Les personnes ayant obtenu un titre de formation ou une autorisation requis pour l’exercice de la profession d’ergothérapeute ou de psychomotricien sont tenues de se faire enregistrer auprès du service ou de l’organisme désigné à cette fin par le ministre chargé de la santé, avant leur entrée dans la profession.

L’enregistrement de ces personnes est réalisé après vérification des pièces justificatives attestant de leur identité et de leur titre de formation ou de leur autorisation. Elles informent le même service ou organisme de tout changement de situation professionnelle.

La procédure d’enregistrement est sans frais.

Il est établi, pour chaque département, par le service ou l’organisme désigné à cette fin, des listes distinctes de ces professions, portées à la connaissance du public.

L’inscription n’est possible que dans un seul département. Dans le cas où l’activité est exercée dans plusieurs départements, l’intéressé est inscrit sur la liste du département dans lequel est situé son lieu principal d’exercice professionnel. Cette disposition n’est pas applicable aux ergothérapeutes et aux psychomotriciens militaires.

Les modalités d’application du présent article sont fixées par décret.
