Article L4344-4-1 of the French Public Health Code

Any person practising orthoptics, within the meaning of article L. 4342-1, who does not hold a certificat de capacité d’orthoptiste or one of the diplomas or certificates of study in orthoptics established by the Minister of Education prior to the creation of the said certificat or any other qualification referred to in article L. 4342-4 required to practise as an orthoptist, or who does not fall within the provisions of article L. 4342-5, shall be practising the profession of orthoptist illegally.

This article shall not apply to orthoptic students or orthoptic apprentices who are undertaking a training period under article L. 4381-1.

Article L4344-4-1

Exerce illégalement la profession d’orthoptiste toute personne qui pratique l’orthoptie, au sens de l’article L. 4342-1, sans être titulaire du certificat de capacité d’orthoptiste ou de l’un des diplômes ou attestations d’études d’orthoptie établis par le ministre chargé de l’éducation antérieurement à la création dudit certificat ou de tout autre titre mentionné à l’article L. 4342-4 exigé pour l’exercice de la profession d’orthoptiste, ou sans relever des dispositions de l’article L. 4342-5.

Le présent article ne s’applique pas aux étudiants en orthoptie ni aux apprentis en orthoptie qui effectuent un stage dans le cadre de l’article L. 4381-1.
