The medical laboratory technician takes part in the technical performance of a medical biology examination or an anatomy and pathology examination, under the responsibility of a medical biologist or a specialist doctor qualified in anatomy and pathology.

The medical laboratory technician takes samples under conditions determined by decree in the Conseil d’Etat.

The medical laboratory technician participates, within his field of competence, in public health missions. They also participate in the permanent provision of medical biology services defined in the area concerned. They may be called upon to participate in teaching and research, as well as in therapeutic patient education programmes.

Le technicien de laboratoire médical participe à la réalisation technique d’un examen de biologie médicale ou d’un examen d’anatomie et de cytologie pathologiques, sous la responsabilité d’un biologiste médical ou d’un médecin spécialiste qualifié en anatomie et cytologie pathologiques.

Le technicien de laboratoire médical réalise des prélèvements dans les conditions déterminées par décret en Conseil d’Etat.

Le technicien de laboratoire médical participe, dans son champ de compétence, à des missions de santé publique. Il participe également à la permanence de l’offre de biologie médicale définie dans la zone concernée. Il peut être appelé à participer à des missions d’enseignement et de recherche, ainsi qu’aux programmes d’éducation thérapeutique du patient.
