Article L4352-2 of the French Public Health Code

The following may practise the profession of medical laboratory technician and hold the title of medical laboratory technician:

1° A person holding the State diploma of medical laboratory technician ;

2° A person who holds a training qualification whose theoretical and clinical curriculum is equivalent to that of the State medical laboratory technician diploma and who appears on a list drawn up by the ministers responsible for health and higher education.

Peut exercer la profession de technicien de laboratoire médical et en porter le titre :

1° Une personne titulaire du diplôme d’Etat de technicien de laboratoire médical ;

2° Une personne titulaire d’un titre de formation dont le programme d’enseignement théorique et clinique est équivalent à celui du diplôme d’Etat de technicien de laboratoire médical et qui figure sur une liste arrêtée par les ministres chargés de la santé et de l’enseignement supérieur.
