Article L4424-8 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

I. – The territorial collectivity of Corsica is competent to carry out actions relating to the promotion of physical and sporting activities, popular education and information for young people. The State carries out actions relating to national policy. It may enter into an agreement with the Corsican regional authority to ensure, where necessary, the coordination of the actions they carry out. In this agreement, the State may also entrust the Corsican regional authority with the implementation of some of its actions.

II. – The territorial collectivity of Corsica is the recipient of operating subsidies from the Agence nationale du sport intended for local sports groups and distributed regionally within the framework of the guidelines defined by the agency’s bodies.

They are allocated by deliberation of the Assembly of Corsica on the proposal of the Executive Council and after consultation with the representative of the State and a territorial commission for the development of sport in Corsica, the composition of which is set by deliberation of the Assembly of Corsica and which includes, for half of its members, representatives of the regional Olympic and Sports Committee.

I. – La collectivité territoriale de Corse est compétente pour conduire les actions en matière de promotion des activités physiques et sportives, d’éducation populaire et d’information de la jeunesse. L’Etat mène les actions relevant de la politique nationale. Il peut passer avec la collectivité territoriale de Corse une convention permettant d’assurer, en tant que de besoin, la coordination des actions qu’ils conduisent. L’Etat peut également dans cette convention charger la collectivité territoriale de Corse de la mise en oeuvre de certaines de ses actions.

II. – La collectivité territoriale de Corse est attributaire des subventions de fonctionnement de l’Agence nationale du sport destinées aux groupements sportifs locaux et réparties régionalement dans le cadre des orientations définies par les instances de l’agence.

Elles sont affectées par délibération de l’Assemblée de Corse sur proposition du conseil exécutif et après consultation du représentant de l’Etat et d’une commission territoriale pour le développement du sport en Corse dont la composition est fixée par délibération de l’Assemblée de Corse et qui comprend, pour la moitié de ses membres, des représentants du comité régional olympique et sportif.
