Article L5125-22 of the French Public Health Code

In the event of the permanent cessation of activity of the pharmacy, its proprietor, or in the event of his death his heirs, shall declare this cessation to the Director General of the Regional Health Agency.

If it is not declared, the cessation of activity is deemed to be definitive if no activity has been recorded for twelve consecutive months.

The Director General of the Regional Health Agency shall record the lapse of the licence by order.

En cas de cessation définitive d’activité de l’officine, son titulaire, ou en cas de décès ses héritiers, déclare cette cessation auprès du directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé.

Lorsqu’elle n’est pas déclarée, la cessation d’activité est réputée définitive dès lors qu’aucune activité n’a été constatée pendant douze mois consécutifs.

Le directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé constate la caducité de la licence par arrêté.
