Article L5134-69-1 of the French Labour Code

The employment contract associated with aid for professional integration granted under an initiative-employment contract, concluded for a fixed period, may be extended for a total period of twenty-four months, or five years for employees aged fifty and over who are experiencing particular difficulties that prevent their long-term integration into employment, as well as for persons recognised as disabled workers.

By way of derogation, for employees aged fifty-eight or over, this employment contract may be extended until the date on which they are entitled to claim their pension rights.

Le contrat de travail associé à une aide à l’insertion professionnelle attribuée au titre d’un contrat initiative-emploi, conclu pour une durée déterminée, peut être prolongé dans la limite d’une durée totale de vingt-quatre mois, ou de cinq ans pour les salariés âgés de cinquante ans et plus rencontrant des difficultés particulières qui font obstacle à leur insertion durable dans l’emploi, ainsi que pour les personnes reconnues travailleurs handicapés.

A titre dérogatoire, pour les salariés âgés de cinquante-huit ans ou plus, ce contrat de travail peut être prolongé jusqu’à la date à laquelle ils sont autorisés à faire valoir leurs droits à la retraite.
