Article L5139-3 of the French Public Health Code

When they have the status of Community goods and are originating from or destined for other Member States of the European Union, micro-organisms and toxins included on the list provided for in article L. 5139-1 as well as products containing them must be presented to the customs service, together with the accompanying documents.

The customs officers are responsible for endorsing the import or export authorisation provided for in this code, once the goods have been inspected.

Lorsqu’ils ont le statut de marchandises communautaires et sont en provenance ou à destination des autres Etats membres de l’Union européenne, les micro-organismes et toxines inscrits sur la liste prévue à l’article L. 5139-1 ainsi que les produits en contenant doivent être présentés au service des douanes, munis des documents qui les accompagnent.

Les agents des douanes sont chargés d’endosser, après contrôle des marchandises, l’autorisation d’importation ou d’exportation prévue par le présent code.
