Article L531-11 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

A firm other than an investment firm or an asset management company may not use any name, corporate name, advertising or, in general, any expression suggesting that it is authorised as an investment firm or as an asset management company, or create confusion in this respect.

An investment firm or a portfolio management company may not imply that it belongs to a category other than that for which it has obtained authorisation, or create confusion on this point.

Article L531-11

Il est interdit à toute entreprise autre qu’une entreprise d’investissement ou qu’une société de gestion de portefeuille d’utiliser une dénomination, une raison sociale, une publicité ou, d’une façon générale, des expressions faisant croire qu’elle est agréée en tant qu’entreprise d’investissement ou en tant que société de gestion de portefeuille, ou de créer une confusion en cette matière.

Il est interdit à une entreprise d’investissement ou à une société de gestion de portefeuille de laisser entendre qu’elle appartient à une catégorie autre que celle au titre de laquelle elle a obtenu son agrément ou de créer une confusion sur ce point.
