Article L531-7 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The fact that the applicant has been subjected to persecution or serious harm or to direct threats of such persecution or harm constitutes a serious indication of the well-founded nature of the applicant’s fear of persecution or of the real risk of suffering serious harm, unless there are specific and detailed grounds for believing that such persecution or serious harm will not recur.
Where part of the applicant’s statements is not supported by evidence, the applicant shall not be required to provide further justification if he or she has complied with the requirements set out in the first paragraph of Article L. 531-5 and if his or her statements are considered to be consistent and credible and are not contradicted by information available to the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons.

Article L531-7
