Throughout their working life, all individuals may benefit from career development advice, the aim of which is to promote the development and security of their career path.
This advice is free of charge and is provided as part of the regional public guidance service mentioned in article L. 6111-3. The career development counselling operator assists people in formalising and implementing their career development plans, in line with existing and foreseeable economic and social needs in the regions. It facilitates access to training, by identifying the person’s skills, the qualifications and training that meet their needs and the funding available.
It assists employees with their professional transition projects as provided for in Article L. 6323-17-1.
The professional development advice service is defined by a set of specifications drawn up by the Minister for Professional Training.
Subject to article L. 6111-6-1, career development advice is provided by the institutions and organisations mentioned in 1° bis of article L. 5311-4 and article L. 5314-1, by Pôle emploi, by the institution responsible for improving the functioning of the executive employment market created by the national interprofessional agreement of 12 July 2011 relating to the Association pour l’emploi des cadres, and by the operators designated under 4° of Article L. 6123-5, following the opinion of the bureau of the regional committee for employment, vocational guidance and training mentioned in Article L. 6123-3. The regional operators are financed by France Compétences and selected by a public contract.
These institutions, bodies and operators provide direct information to individuals on how to access this advice and on its content, in accordance with procedures defined by regulation.
