Article L613-5 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A foreign national who is notified of a ban on returning to French territory shall be informed that an alert for the purposes of refusing entry has been issued in the Schengen Information System, in accordance with Article 24 of Regulation (EU) No 2018/1861 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 November 2018 on the establishment, operation and use of the Schengen Information System (SIS) in the field of border checks, amending the Convention Implementing the Schengen Agreement and amending and repealing Regulation (EC) No 1987/2006.
The procedures for deleting alerts on foreign nationals in the event of the cancellation or repeal of the re-entry ban are laid down by regulation.

L’étranger auquel est notifiée une interdiction de retour sur le territoire français est informé qu’il fait l’objet d’un signalement aux fins de non-admission dans le système d’information Schengen, conformément à l’article 24 du règlement (UE) n° 2018/1861 du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 28 novembre 2018 sur l’établissement, le fonctionnement et l’utilisation du système d’information Schengen (SIS) dans le domaine des vérifications aux frontières, modifiant la convention d’application de l’accord de Schengen et modifiant et abrogeant le règlement (CE) n° 1987/2006.
Les modalités de suppression du signalement de l’étranger en cas d’annulation ou d’abrogation de l’interdiction de retour sont fixées par voie réglementaire.
