With a view to bringing together medical activities, two or more hospital centres may, by joint decision of their directors taken after consulting the medical commission and social committee of each of the establishments concerned, decide to group together some of their clinical or medico-technical activity centres or some of the internal structures of these centres, into inter-hospital medical federations, with the agreement of the heads of the aforementioned structures.
This decision defines the organisation, operation and name of the federation. In particular, it specifies the nature and scope of the federation’s activities, the procedures for involving the staff of the establishments concerned in these activities and the conditions for appointing and the role of the coordinating hospital practitioner under whose responsibility they are placed. The coordinator is assisted by a midwife, a paramedical executive or a member of the nursing staff and by a member of the administrative staff.
