Article L614-24 of the French Intellectual Property Code

Where an international application for the protection of inventions made under the Washington Treaty includes the designation or election of France, such application shall be deemed to be for a European patent governed by the provisions of the Munich Convention.

Lorsqu’une demande internationale de protection des inventions formulée en application du traité de Washington comporte la désignation ou l’élection de la France, cette demande est considérée comme tendant à l’obtention d’un brevet européen régi par les dispositions de la Convention de Munich.
