The medical biology laboratory participates in public health missions. It also participates in the availability of medical biology services defined in the zone determined in application of b of 2° of article L. 1434-9. They contribute to therapeutic education programmes for patients. They may be called upon to take part in teaching and research programmes.
Vaccines may be prescribed and administered within the clinic. The list of vaccines that may be prescribed is set by order of the Minister for Health, after obtaining the opinion of the Haute Autorité de Santé and the Agence nationale de sécurité du médicament et des produits de santé. The list of vaccines that may be administered is set by order of the Minister for Health, after obtaining the opinion of the Haute Autorité de santé.
The following are determined by a decree of the Conseil d’Etat, issued after consultation with the committee referred to in Article L. 6213-12:
1° The categories of persons authorised to prescribe or administer these vaccines ;
2° The persons likely to be prescribed and administered these vaccines;
3° The conditions under which vaccines may be prescribed and administered.
